While hand quilting, my thimbles dull my needles and my handy emery board (the kind with foam layer in the middle) is perfect for sticking my needles into to sharpen up and I'm ready to go again. 
At the end of every week, I can see progress and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!Have a great day!

Ohhh I can't wait to see the finished quilt. It's really coming along beautifully. I have so much respect for women who hand quilt. Learning to hand quilt in on my bucket list and I'm hoping to start teaching myself this year...fingers crossed.

I never realized how small the blocks were until scaled alongside the emery and your thimbles! Oh. my. word!!! :-D I liked the quilt very much before, but now I love it!! LOL What amazing work you have done and are doing! Gorgeous!

Thanks for the tip about the emory board. I never realized my needles were getting blunt from the thimble. Makes sense though. I love what you're working on.
No wonder your hands were getting sore, there is a lot of quilting on this quilt! It is gorgeous.
I'm about at that place on the one I'm quilting too. I try to avoid looking at how far I have yet to go. My Mom's pin cushion had a little strawberry on a string that was used for sharpening needles. She said it was an "emery bag" and I've always wondered what was in it because it would be easy to make and handy to have.
Great! I know how you feel, but I am not quite 3/4 way with my Circus Stars, but I am getting there.

Hand quilting takes awhile but this is looking so gorgeous with your beautiful stitches that it's sure worth it.

Still feel so nervous seeing that marker on your quilt! I trust that you say it will come out, but yikes....you are brave!
If I remember correct you use washable markers. I ahve bought some and if this is what you use can you let me know. Im alittle afraid to try them.

Slow and steady wins the race. I do have a question though. I am just learning... I have made two hand appliqued quilts and one hand quilted (baby quilt size), but I noticed you have red marks on your quilt. Will you share what you use to mark your quilting lines? And thanks for the emery board tip. I would have never thought of that.
