Great Progress + Garden

After we got our 4th Covid vaccination, we had a couple hours of chills ..... but that is all.  We were supposed to feel tired for a few days ..... but so far .... nope.  We are good to go.

So, instead of just sitting in my chair while watching T.V., or playing games on my ipad, I got busy pinning the last two rows onto my Churn Dash Challenge top and had a marathon of sewing, pinning, sewing.  It is a large queen, so those rows seemed to take forever to pin.

Then once that center was done, my Stash Buster Challenge top was up next.   There had to be a bit of unsewing with Jack the Ripper ..... then once that problem was done, another marathon of pinning, sewing, pinning, sewing and that center got done.

How happy am I?  Once borders are on, then each top will be shown separately.

Our garden on the hill at this time of year.

Stash Buster Challenge Update

It has been a while (May of this year) since this project saw daylight.  Those rows were almost sewn together and then my Churn Dash Challenge came out to play and that was that.  Abandoned .....

Anyway, here is where this project is at .... so close to being a top.  Must get back at it again!

There is only one more sashing to sew on my Churn Dash Challenge and I will be able to show you a finished center soon.  There has been much interest in those sashings ..... so I will be doing a post on how those sashings came to be.  Stay tuned!

Today, Hubby and I are getting our fourth Covid shots.  The new variant (BA.5) is starting to cause havoc and we want to stay protected.

Oops .... Squirrels ....

I belong to a FB group called Scrap Quilt Enthusiasts and have joined a challenge to make blocks for the Stash Buster Challenge 2022.  The challenge is hosted by Border Creek Station and once the squirrels came out to play .... well .... I joined in and played the game!  LOL  My quilt has a different look for the corners.  A few other participants changed their corners also and I quite liked the look .... so .....

Edit:  The challenge is on the FB group called The Stash Buster Challenge ..... oopsie on my part.  Sorry about that!

This is my block:

This is my layout so far.  There will be two (almost) identical quilts using these fabrics and this block.   I'm getting ahead of the Xmas gift giving and this is a good start.  I've got the stash and need quilts for gifting .... the perfect project!  A good excuse, don't you think?  LOL
So, this is what is keeping me busy when I'm home in my studio.  Now that cottage season has started, not much time is spent in my studio.
