Blossoms of Blue

The last time you saw a bit of this hanging was back in November ’07 when it was just a top showing the nine patches and I had hinted at doing some appliqué.

Sure makes a difference with the appliqué on it. The blue flowers were left overs from my Blue Buds quilt and were just waiting for a chance to be used up. I still have a bit more of those flowers and one day they will be showing up again in another wee hanging.

My DH suggested that it should hang at this level and I love it this way. :o)

In my stash, there are odds and ends of rick rack and I was just waiting for an opportunity to use it. Do you see how much this braiding changes the whole look of a circle? I’ll be doing that again, for sure.

Have a great day!

Thank you for you post on my blog. I love your applique and it is one of my favorite things to do as well. I had never thought of saving my applique pieces to put on other quilts, but you betcha I will start doing that now.

I noticed that you added ricrac to your appliqué. How did you get it to lay so nicely? Beautiful work...love the colors.

Beautiful applique and quilting. The ric-rac looks great. Love that little angel and her quilt in the first picture.

Rose Marie,
If your husband should read this comment, I hope he will pass along my wish for you and your family to know my thoughts are with all of you as you go through such a painful time with you mother. May she find peace and be freed from her pain.
