Klosjes basting

Winter is here and the time has come to do some hand quilting. My queen size klosjes quilt is all marked up and ready to go. Usually, my quilts get basted on the floor; but it is just too hard these days to get down on hands and knees to do that chore. So, I'm trying this new method and so far it is much easier than I thought.

My two trusty assistants are on hand to help me out. Ashes is busy making sure that the basting thread doesn't get tangled up .... .... and Hank is making sure the backing and batting doesn't shift too much.

They were such big help .... that is until they both took off on a tear around the house. The working bit is over .... it is play time!
Have a great day!

That will be a wonderful project to hand quilt over winter and I am with you basting on the floor not for me either.

That is so beautiful!!!
I 'm glad you have found a solution to crawling on the floor. As for me, I have to move all the furniture out of the room first and then de-hair the carpet and hope I can get it basted before the next time someone needs to walk through the room. Poor dog sits and watches the clock because she knows the word,"off" means "do not enter!"

I don't know how you would manage without your helpers! The floor is too low for me these days too, but I am lucky enough that a local shop lets me use their big table for basting.

Great quilt. What kind of batting are you using?

It looks like they both help the same way leeloo does quite often. right now, leeloo is batting at the snowflakes that flutter by the window, while sitting on my cutting mat.

I think if you have these two trusty cats to help you, you could pretty much baste where ever you wanted!!! It's always a great feeling to be doing that next step isn't it? Happy quilting.

I love that quilt! What a great project to work on over the winter. I can't sandwich my quilts on the floor either. Even if I was able to get down there, I would never get back up again. Glad you have your furbabies to help. They are so cute.

What a beautiful quilt! Great idea for basting. I love to hand quilt but needed a better way to baste than crawling around on the floor.Newbie at quilting and blogging!
