My wee corner

Lately, it has been way toooo hot and humid to do much hand quilting and although this quilt beckons me, it will have to wait for cooler days before I can really put a dent into the quilting. The nights are starting to cool down, so perhaps soon.

The humid weather has removed most of my quilting lines (Clover blue marking pen), so they will have to be re-marked as I go along. Usually, this is how my quilts are marked but for this one, I decided to mark it all first when it was just a top. Oh well, lesson learned. This time, I am using Crayola Washable markers and am keeping my fingers crossed that the lines all come out. I have had good and bad results with these markers. The bad .... well that is a story for another day.

This is my corner of our TV room where I do most of my hand quilting.

Guðrún, can you see your pincushion? I love it and it is truly being used! :o)
Have a great day!

BTW, she forgot to mention that she made the painting on the wall too... long time ago. Talented lady/wife indeed.

Well, I had to go back and look at the painting :)) Very nice painting!

Carole from Quilting Adventures is doing a bit of an experiment with the Crayola washout markers. She is finding they wash out quite well. Good luck with them.

Very nice little corner you have there.

Your quilt is beautiful. I'm on a steep learning curve here with marker pencils! I'd be interested in your verdict.

Thanks for visiting me!

I agree with you about heat and humidity.

I took my hand quilting with me to camping this weekend. I guess 98 degree weather and 90% humidity is close enough to steam for the magic pounce powder. Got fainter as the day got warmer. So put that one on the list for winter only.

I just had a close-up of your quilt and it is absolutely beautiful and blue is my favourite colour too. Hand quilting is no fun when it is hot !

Your quilt is just beautiful! I was really interested in your comments on handquilt markings. I haven't had a lot of consistent luck with any of my marking methods so I am very interested in any success you may have with marking.

Which colours of the crayola washable markers worked the best? (that is, you could see the lines and then they washed out)
