Lately, my UFO's are being worked on this summer and this one had me stumped for quite some time and has been up on my design since last year. This project was started Nov.15,2010 and it went together quite quickly until the centre of the petal blocks. I just couldn't decide what to do. I like the idea of the white centers .... except some of those centers had been cut away. So, something else had to be done with them.

Now this is fun. Sharing all the options. You really nailed it with the simple white circle and a nice bright contrasting smaller circle. Now I'm in love. :)
That is a very pretty solution!
I think those centers are perfect. The blue really makes the blue center square in the other block pop. I always feel like I've accomplished something when I get a lot of blocks and smaller pieces sewn into a quilt top. Great quilt!
Very nice to see all the options you considered. I like the choice you made; I doubt I would have thought of it. You are so clever!
I so loved that giant rick rack
Wow, those circles just brought it to life.
That's a very bright cheerful quilt! Definitely - the white circles with the darker contrast, because there is a lot going on in the rest of the quilt.
Funny how those problems just solve themselves if given time.Guess that quilt got tired of waiting so it told you what to do next. Great!
That looks great. I think the white really makes the centres sparkle.
It will be an greate quilt - love your idea of the middle cicles.
Some quilts just take some brewing before they get put together. You had some great ideas for the centers. It's going to be wonderful. I win the prize for the quilt that's been on a design wall the longest, five years, gulp.
Wow, I love it. What a good idea to have your dark contrasting circle on the white - really sets it off.

I enjoyed seeing your thought process and do like the end result. It sure helps to see how others reason things out.
I'm really liking how you solved your dilema with the flower centers!
In stitches,

Perfect! I love that white and blue circle. And your quilt is looking so cute.
Yes the white one with the bright inner circle looks GREAT.
