While I am starting new projects, my older ones are getting to the finished top stage, including this one. My
Lover's Knot is the second top to be finished recently. I am on a roll! :o)
I really am not happy with the borders. The fabric is a large tone on tone floral and I should have put the fabric up on my design wall before cutting the strips so that the distinct design could be seen. Am I kicking myself? You bet! Oh well, lesson learned for next time. This is something that never occurred to me as all my other quilt borders turned out just fine, but this is the first time that I have worked with a large floral fabric.
At the end of the day, once this quilt is finished and placed on the bed, the borders will not be noticed and I can live with them as they are.
Have a great day!

Your Lover's Knot quilt is oh so good. Did you use all reproduction fabrics? It is hard to tell in the photo. Some definitely look repro.
I think the border looks fine. Maybe once you quilt it it will get the look you want. I love this pattern--is it all hand applique'd?
This is one of my all time favourite patterns...one that I have on my to-do list, but haven't started..mainly because I have yet to decide the best approach. Did you use acrylic templates or some other method?
This top is just so beautiful! Many years ago I hand pieced a top in just two fabrics - pink and cream. It just does not compare to yours. Well, it does compare, just not favorably! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!
I love it!!!! :o)
Think this is the most beautiful one I have seen!!! WOW!!!:o)
It is magnificent. I love the border. You might get used to it.
Rose Marie the border is perfect. I love it, it is beautiful.
It is gorgeous, IMHO. Love the scrappy look and the border is perfect. Nice work.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you get the quilt quilted....the border brings out the blue in the quilt.....
Wow! What an amazing quilt. It truly seems like just a couple months ago you started on this one. I love seeing all these fabrics working together.
I'm bummed you're not happy with the borders. I'm not entirely certain I'm seeing what you are since they don't trouble me?
...nevermind. Now I see it. Still, it's a tremendous quilt.
The border looks fine from Iceland! I love those blocks.
It's gorgeous, I've always loved that pattern and I love the scrappy look. Wonderful quilt!
Stunning Rose Marie....
Gosh, I love the border!! What a wonderful quilt, a treat to look at and enjoy.
That's very pretty. Is it pieced, appliqued or both?
The Lover's Knot is just beautiful!!
Your boarder is wonderful it actually is perfect your blocks only stand out more.. maybe cause you are not used to the big florals you would feel this way..love it the way it is!!
That is a gorgeous quilt! The isn't anywhere near as obvious on the bed and I'd bet once you've quilted it you'll be happy as can be.
I absolutely love your Lover's Knot quilt! It is beautiful! I can see what you mean about the border, but the colour is perfect, and once it is quilted and all finished no one will notice! Congratulations on another finished quilt top!!!
I loved this when you were making it and now I love it even more. Like everyone else I think the borders are just great as they are xx

Your quilting is stunning. The borders look good in the picture. I think the colors frame the blocks very nicely but I am sure it looks different in person.
