Then, I remembered the ribbon that Moda uses for wrapping their bundles of FQ's and Jelly Rolls and I had just received a shipment from Hancocks of Paducah last week. In that shipment was a bundle of Aviary FQ's and a Nostalgia Jelly Roll and THE ribbons that tied them together. Would they fit?
Yes! A perfect fit!
This is what DH needed the strap for. Now, his pool cover thingy works well and there is enough of the Moda strap left over for a few more repairs. When we run out, well, I can just buy some more FQ's or Jelly Rolls or put out a SOS to fellow bloggers to send me their strapping.
So, you just never know when something can come in handy and be recycled.
Cost to repair: $0.00 Priceless!
Have a great day!

I love it!! Thanks for brightening my day.
Can't have a better reason for buying fabric then that! *G*
What a genius you are! Perfect solution and it looks nice too! Cindy
Darn, I think I have thrown mine away. Now I know to save them.
How clever....
what a great idea and fashionable too.
Clever idea! when he needs more webbing you will just have to buy more fabric - can't lose here.
A great idea....and I was saving them just because I thought they were pretty!
This is great :)
I love that idea! Very stylish too -LOL. I use that stuff for all kinds of things - it is a great quality. I get the that as well from the Fat Quarter Shop and it is the same size and strength as well. One thing I do with it is sew it to the end on the inside of narrow pieces that I need to turn right side out after stitched together. Works great.
Genius!! I keep all my ribbons too.
I read this and though "how clever is that!" I smiled. I keep mine but I don't know why. They just pile up. Someday I'm convinced they'll be useful. Perhaps not as useful as yours were here but still...
And won't that put a smile on your face every time you see MODA holding your pool cover! Cute!
A quilter to the rescue!!
Tee, hee! what a great solution.
Perfect! What a perfect idea, and great way to re-purpose those ties.
