This hanging is so vibrant with the colours, the buttons and the beads. A bead was sewn in those empty spaces where the yo-yo’s are joined together. The beads give it a shine when the outdoor light just hits it so.
If you’ve never made a yo-yo …well, try it at least once. They are so easy to make and are a great take-along project.
Have a great day!
Edit:
I got this pattern from www.freepatterns.com/ (click onto Holiday patterns and scan through the photos) and you can download the pattern.

Mmmm.. So pretty! And a trip down memory lane as well!
Bravo!
You are really going to town on those yo-yos. The tree looks gorgeous. The quilting lines really add to it.
thanks for visiting.
I just love your yoyo christmas tree, must make one for next year, what a fabulous idea.
What a beautiful quilt...I love that you used so many colors! What fun...
woops can I be so bold as to ask what size you made the yoyos
Ok, you've convinced me -- I NEED to make one of these. But -- not until AFTER this Christmas is over!
Oh so pretty, and that brought back a few memories with the smilie buttons... I love the doves you've added to it. I'm never dissapointed when I visit your blog.
This yoyo thing is cute! I had a friend who made entire quilts out of those things...not sure why. Doubt I could and again, not sure why I would...LoL, you make it look easy!
I wouldn´t have noticed the beads unless you told us. I just thought that the quilting acted like the tree was sparkling and it does. It is a beautiful little quilt. Now I have big plans for next years Christmas presents, at least I will have try just for me.
Just love your yo-yo Christmas tree, what a great idea....
What a beautiful wallhanging. I've seen these done all in green with red buttons in the center of the yo-yos, but I really like yours with all the colors better! And..I'm going to consider a blue background one of your trademarks. You seem to use a blue background often and everything you show with one is just so pretty.
I really love the dove on the top of the tree, too!
I love the tree. It is so cheerful and bright. Hmm -- guess that goes on the list of things I'd like to make...for next Christmas!
Hi Rose Marie, love the yo-yo tree...what a great idea and I love the use of buttons!!! Much better than just a button tree. Your winter quilt for Tonya's class is just awesome...one of the nicest I've seen. Hugs, Finn
I love the yo yo's, but I really love all the snowmen in the picture on the left.
It is brilliant! I think everyone should have one!
OMG! how beautiful vibrant and colourful. It really puts me in the mood to work on one for next yet.
I haven't made yo-yos since the 1980's but this makes me want to do some more. Maybe a few a day...
Love this christmas tree! Now I have another project to add to my "growing" list of things to make ;-).
This is so adorable. Great idea.
I just won a YoYo maker kit at Melissa's (melsownplace.blogspot.com) cottage warming party, and love this tree. I think that is my next project to start. I love it, and what a great way to practice yoyo's. Thank you for posting it. I can't believe I just found your blog today, I love it.
