Used the back

Are you confused by the title?  Read on.

If I hadn't spent the last five days at the cottage, this top would be done by now.  However, you can see that a lot of progress has been made.  The diagonal rows have been sewn together and the setting triangles have almost been sewn together.
I have to show you this block below:
Can you see what I did on purpose?  Reversed the brown fabric so that it was more muted looking.  This brown fabric was auditioned and it was just too strong.  So after looking at the back, I decided to use that side.  The things we quilters do to make our projects work.
Have a great day!

I like how your blocks are looking Rose Marie, and thanks for the tip - I've never consciously considered the 'wrong' side but it is obviously worthwhile doing so!

I did that once to create gray fabrics -- back when I could find very few....love the periwinkle color you brought in for the sides.

Love the blue triangles......it gives a lift without being overwhelming! I've never been able to bring myself to use the 'wrong' side of fabric, it's so expensive here that if I pay for the right side I am going to darn well use it.

Yes, I do so too. I discovered this by accident once. But this way you always have two colours of the same kind with the printed fabrics. ;o)

Beautiful quilt - love your color choices - so mellow - so soft.

It is nice that the reverse can be used. It saves headaches - and money at times too.

I have done that too before now. I always feel as though it is "free" fabric that way.

I've always considered all fabrics two sided! I paid for both sides, I'll use both sides :)

back to looking through past posts to see if you are using epp and where to get the shapes. really a dynamic result.

It's me again, I see you DO do epp. Could you share info about the spools? in the circles quilt? You don't have to post this
Replying will bring you right into my cosy in-box.
thank you, Sharyn
