Making it Mine

The pattern is from Simple Traditions by Kim Diehl. This lady has fast become my favourite designer. I am not one to buy many books, but her designs have sure grabbed hold of me.
As you can see, I have done a few changes in the design to make it my own.
It is not very often that I copy a pattern exactly as the designer made it.

This little top is now ready for sandwiching and hand quilting and it will be quick and easy to finish, but I will put it aside for now as I need to continue working on my SSCS quilt.
Have a great day!

It's lovely! I'm completely hooked on Kim Diehl's designs too. I've even ordered her new book (out this month) without any hesitation...I just know it will be as great as the last two.

I have the book where you found the instructions for this sweet mini-quilt that you made.

I found a Kim Diehl design in a magazine that was given to me during a shop hop, however, I didn't realize the extent of her talent until I came across

I learned that this group used a Diehl design (with permission)for a fund-raiser project. They made Passing Fancy Lap Quilt, page 136 in the book that you have! Check it out.

I sure do hope to make at least one of her designs. She uses my favorite colors in her work. So did you! :)

Would love to purchase her latest publication...plenty of great things to look at in her books!

Hi, this is Helen from http://www.honeybunchquilting.blogspot.com

We have just got our "Passing Fancy" quilt from Kim Diehl's book back from the quilter. It looks fantastic. I've sewn the binding on and I just need to add the hanging sleeve and hand stitch the binding down.

I'm interested to see she has a new book coming out. I could make just about every quilt from Simple Traditions. Her patterns are great.

The corner blocks you have put on your quilt are great. It looks wonderful.

The way you made that mini quilt yours by changing things is great. The nine patch are nice, the change of color too. A very nice winter table topper. Take care.

Can I say I like yours better than the original? Very nice. I am not particularly into applique, but this is quite charming.
