Making progress

Let's see ... what have I been up to lately ...

This UFO is now a top!  I plugged, plugged, plugged away at it until it was done, done, done.
Then, 40 sets of circles were made.
Plus 40 sets of leaves were made.
The project for those circles and leaves will be revealed soon enough.

Back at the end of July, Debra and I and Karen and another lady went to the quilt show at Black Creek Village.  To see photos, go here and here.  It was another great show this year.  Pure bliss!

While I was in Toronto for the show, we had a sewing session at Karen's mother's home.  Her Mom is 93 and still quilting!  Bravo Ann!  There was a bed turning of Ann's quilts and what a treat that was.

Lately, I hurt my back.  Not once, but twice within 2 weeks.  Not being able to move around, I could only sit and do hand work.  That is why those circles and leaves got done.

Then, to add insult to my injury, my left eye has been giving me grief.  I have experienced a vitreous detachment and am having flashing lights and a floater.  It is not giving me grief and I can carry on as usual.  I did have it checked out to make sure there were no tears in my retina.  All is well.

It has been difficult to do much binding on my seven quilts that came home to me.  They are all huge quilts and a tad heavy to handle without putting strain on my back.  One quilt finally got done and as soon as photos are taken, I will be showing it.

Now that I'm mobile again, another quilt will be pulled from the pile and binding will commence.

Have a great day!

Love your quilt top - even though it still needs its flowers! Going to check out those quilts now.
