Another apple core

While I have been busy doing more prepping for my Oh Wonderful, Summer's Here, the time has come to think about a new EPP project to work on.  I just can't believe how addicting EPP is!

Enter, a new apple core quilt.   Oh all right, I have done more than just think about it!  :o)  Now, that I have sorted out the easier way of doing it, it is full steam ahead.
An email from a friend of a friend helped to get me sorted out.  The friend added a link to this tutorial.  Thank you, Cathy!

Since I'm not a fan of using glue of any kind, my apple cores are being basted.  About 10 yrs. ago, I did use glue for applique, but stopped using it and am not truly convinced that is the way to go.

This is my plan for doing the apple cores in sections.  A total of 44 neutrals and 44 prints are needed per section.
There are 7 sections left to do, and below shows the start of getting the neutrals cut out and ready to be sorted into piles.
All my neutrals are now in piles with extras if I decide to make my quilt larger.

This is the start of the prints being sorted out.  This is where it gets interesting because not all the prints will be in each section.  The overall look will be interesting once it is all together.

Finished size of my quilt will be 60" x 92".

Once all the apple core pieces are cut out and sorted, this project will be packed away because I really do want to get my Oh Wonderful, Summer's Here to a completed top stage.

Then yesterday, did I not find an interesting apple core quilt on Pinterest?  Oh my, this will be one that will be on my 'to do' list, for sure!

Have a great day!

Oh, that will be so pretty! I love the new header pic too. That is an interesting Apple Core pattern you found, it would be a great use of scraps.

The video is not working for me right now, but I will try again later. I have a template for an apple core but have never figured it out. Hope the video will give me some answers.

Hi , my name is Themis Abdo and I live in Brazil, I was looking for the images of the quilt house with blocks and I found your blog. I love all your quilts, colors, patterns. . Where I live there are many Americans descendants, their families came to Brazil after the end of Civil War invited by our Emperor D Pedro II to plant cotton and tobacco in my county ( Santa Barbara, Piracicaba and Americana), this last city received this name in homage to Americans. I have a small studio where I teach patchwork. Congrats for your beautiful quilts. Hugs from Brazil.
