An oopsie moment ...

Don't these colours just scream spring/summer? I'm making a new lap quilt and noticed a couple of blocks that were turned around (like the one with the bright pink paper on the blue/yellow block) and after they were fixed, the rows are now being sewn together. Then, a major oopsie .... I cut the sashing for one row the wrong size and didn't notice until it got pinned onto the design wall. Oopsie ....
I'm off to repair that and finish making this top.
When you click onto this photo, your eyes are not deceiving you ..... I ran out of sashing material and substituted another fabric for the bottom portion.
Years ago, this would have bothered me to no end and all of the sashing would have been ripped out and a new sashing used that was the same throughout. These days, I'm beyond that and am OK with what has been done. You know, using the stash ....
Have a great day, eh!

I like the fabric color choices.

Regarding your oopsie...Ive done that with clothing and quilting on more than one occasion....there's usually nothing but for me to say a few choice words to myeslf and at my work, pick it apart, and sew again :-)

At least you found your oopsie before the quilt was all put together - that would have been frustrating! It's a very cheerful quilt and will add a touch of colour when it's cold and snowy.

Easter and spring, that's what I thought as soon as I saw your photo. Lucky you had time to fix the rogue blocks in time. I do that sometimes.

The colours made me think of Neapolitan icecream and then of sugared almonds. Yummy.

I see that you have been busy during the olympics and wondered if it helped watching the Oscars last night with the withdrawal!! Your quilts are just beautiful I think kitty just misses your lap she probably got used to the Olympic quilting you were doing

Love the colors!! Don't you just hate it when you turn something the wrong way. Instead of me lining up my tisket a tasket basket quilt like a calendar (since each month was represented) I lined them up and down which made the across go January, May,Sept. Boy, was I not watching and I didn't catch it until I had started the quilting....duh....

I've made some mistakes in block placement in my quilts, and often opted to leave them as is. It adds interest to the quilt. Kind of like hunting for an Easter egg.
