Lately, that is about all that I've been doing and enjoying it! A whole bunch of hexies just pinned to the design wall with more hexies waiting to be prepped.
Update on my condition .... I've been down to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto and had my muscle biopsy. Am now waiting for results. Hopefully now the neurologist will finally know what my condition is and again, hopefully there is a treatment that will slow down my condition. I'm hopeful but prepared for bad news.It was after 6:00 by the time I left the hospital. The painkiller they gave me really bothered my stomach and once at the hotel, I was queasy and was having dry heaves. My sister got me into my rollator and started wheeling me into the lobby but she had to stop because I was going to be sick. After a few minutes she started pushing me again and as we were rolling down a long corridor that runs right beside an open restaurant she just kept whispering to me "don't throw up in front of the diners, don't throw up in front of the diners". That made me laugh and we got to the elevators safely and up to the room. Staying in a hotel is just not the same as being at home. I survived and didn't embarrass myself.
A couple of weeks ago, my sister took me shopping to get supplies. At one store, I tripped and fell and it took my sister plus two men to help me get back onto my feet. My sister did say, "why don't I just go in and get what you need" ..... but me being stubborn said "no". I should've listened to her. Now, when I go anywhere, I will have to use my rollator and not my cane. Lesson learned the hard way and if she suggests that she runs into the store, I will listen to her and stay in the car.
This past weekend was our Thanksgiving and I was able to spend a night at the cottage and enjoy family and catch up with happenings. Last year, my brother installed an inside toilet for me to use for just urine. The outhouse has to be used for the other bit. It was a family affair to get me out to the outhouse and safely back into the cottage. LOL What an adventure that was. A ramp, a half-step cane, my rollator and a toilet seat was required along with three people.
I have also learned that when I go to a restaurant, I will sit on my rollator and not the restaurant chair. It has just become to difficult for me to push myself up off those low chairs.
Life is getting harder and I am relying more and more on other people to help me get things done. I will still do stuff around the house but only if I can do so safely.
I will still blog as quilting is my obsession and gives me pleasure. Blog posts will become less and less as it takes me a while to get anything done.
So, that is my life right now ....
Cherish your day, cherish your life, cherish your freedom and cherish your country!
My country will ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS be CANADA!
Elbows up, eh! BABA
