Using up scraps time!

Since I’m drowning in scraps ….. what is a gal to do …… but start a new Hexie quilt.  I needed a project to keep my hands moving and this is perfect.

There will be a blue border all around and all other colours inside.  I’m still designing as I go along and the inside could change.

I’m staying warm and cosy inside while we have sleet and a flash freeze happening outside.

So, I think I will just pull out my 37 pencils and sharpen them up ….. because I can and don’t have an orange clown telling me I need only one.   BTW, can a person buy just one pencil?  Nah, they come in a box of 10 at least.  What an idiot.  While your economy is going down, down, down, our Canadian economy is doing ok.  Our BUY CANADIAN is strong and growing.  How lovely to see more and more Canadian products on the store shelves these days.  Oh and there is a FB site to warn us of products that were made in USA but labelled to make us think it was made in Canada.  We’re on to your scam!  We have moved on and won’t be back because there are a lot of American idiots waiting in the wings and we have learned our lesson.

Today, I bought a dark fruit cake that has been soaked in brandy.  Does anyone else eat fruit cake?  We grew up eating it at Xmas time and I’m always looking for different brands in search of finding the version that my Mom used to make.

Cherish your day, cherish your life and cherish your country!  My country will always be CANADA!  Elbows up, Canada!

That's an interesting quilt idea - looks like a tropical island surrounded by ocean. Yes, we like dark fruit cake and have already bought ours, sold by the Lions Club. They sell delicious fruit cakes every year.

oh yeah a good scrap buster project....yeah i think orange hair is sniffing glue or something...his real big problem is insecurity...it consumes him and fuels a lot of his rants and actions...57 here this morning but very windy, rain...no white christmas for us!

Makes me feel sad each time I read your thoughts on the vile leadership we now have in charge of America and the situation here. While I understand your comments are directed at Trump and Stephen Miller, it hurts to hear it. It hurts to feel a bit lumped in with such people and especially because so many of us voted right in order to avoid this very situation we are in now. The month of December has seen Trump’s Gestapo take over Minnesota, committing horrible crimes against Minnesotans. Ice is nothing more than the former Proud Boys with the paycheck and a get out of jail free card. Our Congress does nothing to put a stop to this as they destroy America because they, of course, are at the heart of it. They helped bring Trump and this situation on us and to our neighbors in Canada and throughout the world. I am pleased to hear that Canada is growing stronger in their independence from the United States, but I will always regret the loss of Canadian partnerships and friendships the majority of us maintained with the people of Canada. 🇨🇦 Happy Christmas.

I love how you are working the hexy border edge. I’m looking forward to seeing it evolve. Christmas cake is definitely a tradition here in Australia. We love it, but it isn’t everyone’s favourite. Many make it a couple of months before hand to let it mature. You can also buy them from the Lions Club or the CWA (Country Women’s Association).

I love, love, love your Hexie project. It will be fun to see where it takes you. I used to make dark rich Christmas cakes every year. But Tony no longer eats them, I'm still to find the perfect replacement.

I used to hate fruitcake. Then I tried Camp Courageous fruitcake - YUM! So different than the oh-so-common stuff sold in big box stores. No citron, and if you want it soaked with brandy or anything else, you do it yourself.
