Down to one border

Thanks ever so much for all your comments about which version you liked the best. They made me look at my border decisions again and again. Blue was chosen for the side setting triangles and that helped to set the blocks apart from whatever the border turned out to be.

Here, the 9-patch blocks were lined up ... but I just found that they were still a bit too busy for me.

BTW ... these are not the true colours of my blocks but I just couldn't get a good photo so my photos were enhanced and they came out a tad too bright. So, I tried large rectangular scrappy blocks. Nope, too large. Ignore the section on the right where there are no blue triangles (those blocks have not been sewn together yet).

They got cut down a bit and the size is perfect. This is just the start of my layout and some of these fabrics may disappear. I think I'm happy with this but am not totally 100% yet decided. We'll see ....

    Very colourful. The more solid approach does kind of finish it off.

    Absolutely gorgeous ! I LOVE that quilt... yet my favourite border remains the 9 patch : soooo special! (and NOT too busy, in my mind ;>)

    It is beautiful. I must be the only one that loves the nine patch border. Whatever you do it is gorgeous. I am making a nine patch just now but no baskets and will do an applique border.

    Like the blue triangles - the colour makes a good divider between the baskets and the border. Do you know, I like the applique vine and basket border - to my eye, the others are a little heavy for the delicacy of the baskets. But it's your quilt and you have a great eye for what works, and you have the advantage of having the quilt with you......a photograph is never quite the same, is it.

    I like those blue triangles so whatever else will look fine. Being able to lay it all out is a big help when it comes to deciding.

    the blue looks great, you could just add a border of blue and end it there.
    or actually maybe the quilt doesn't need a border, end it with the blue setting triangles...

    The last one definitely works the best. I love the use of the blue triangles to separate your blocks from your borders.

    I can't help it...I have basket envy. That is such a great quilt. While sitting with some friends, we got the idea to make our baskets 3 1/2inches finished so they would easily fit on a charm square. Someone drafted the pattern and emailed it to me, and I have been making that size since then. After seeing yours I may make those into a wall hanging and start over....... Your quilt is just beautiful.
