My two trusty assistants are on hand to help me out. Ashes is busy making sure that the basting thread doesn't get tangled up .... .... and Hank is making sure the backing and batting doesn't shift too much.
They were such big help .... that is until they both took off on a tear around the house. The working bit is over .... it is play time!
Have a great day!
Your quilt is absolutely gorgeous!! Don't kitties just make wonderful helpers too? I can't wait to see this one all complete!
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely one of the prettiest quilts I've seen, I love it and I hope you have many hours of quilting pleasure with it.
ReplyDeleteThat will be a wonderful project to hand quilt over winter and I am with you basting on the floor not for me either.
ReplyDeletecheers
Christine
That is so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI 'm glad you have found a solution to crawling on the floor. As for me, I have to move all the furniture out of the room first and then de-hair the carpet and hope I can get it basted before the next time someone needs to walk through the room. Poor dog sits and watches the clock because she knows the word,"off" means "do not enter!"
Just beawutiful! I'm sure your kittens enjoy helping!

ReplyDeleteOh I am so jealous of your assistants! LOL I would love to be able so see your quilt up close: it takes my breath away, Rose Marie...
Did basting this way work out? I wish you lots of pleasure with the quilting!
:)
I don't know how you would manage without your helpers! The floor is too low for me these days too, but I am lucky enough that a local shop lets me use their big table for basting.
ReplyDeletelovely post and beautiful quilt
ReplyDeleteSure your little helpers will be around when you are doing the quilting.
I love this quilt and am really looking forward to seeing how you quilt it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your handquilting on this beauty. I'm glad you such willing assistants because that means you can start quilting sooner than you may have anticipated. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is just lovely! It will be wonderful quilted.
ReplyDeleteYour kitties are too fluffy and cute!
Everytime I see this quilt I am so impressed with the border you designed.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt. What kind of batting are you using?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they both help the same way leeloo does quite often. right now, leeloo is batting at the snowflakes that flutter by the window, while sitting on my cutting mat.
ReplyDeleteI think if you have these two trusty cats to help you, you could pretty much baste where ever you wanted!!! It's always a great feeling to be doing that next step isn't it? Happy quilting.
ReplyDeleteI love that quilt! What a great project to work on over the winter. I can't sandwich my quilts on the floor either. Even if I was able to get down there, I would never get back up again. Glad you have your furbabies to help. They are so cute.
ReplyDeletethis quilt is looking lovely........
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt..Can't wait to see it finished..
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of your's now and would love to see you drop by...
