Round ThreeThis block was sent to me for the addition of the third border. You have no idea how long I stared at this piece trying to come up with an idea to complement the block. I tried appliqué …. nope, too busy.
In the end, the block won out and told me to stop and all I added were corner triangles and on it went to the next person for finishing (quilting, etc.)
Here it is all finished up. I love the simplicity of the piece and how my pink corners framed the fabulous center block and border. I hope the lady that now owns this quilt loves it!
Round Four
My job for this round was to sandwich the quilt, quilt it and put on binding and label and then send it on to the last person on the list.
This quilt was hard to hand quilt. The batik fabric and LOTS of piecing was hard to needle through; but I got there in the end.
Round Five
My quilt! While glancing through the sneak peeks that the four ladies had worked on, I had no idea this beauty was mine.

When I signed up for this round robin, I gave an idea of colours to use and my quilt was to be asymmetrical. Top scores to the ladies for coming up with a design that matched me perfectly!
Will I participate again in a round robin ….. yes (except I’m taking 2009 off and will be working only on things for me)! RR forces me to be creative and to think outside the box. Will I become better at it? I hope so.

Have a great day!
I can see "you" written all over that quilt, Rosemary...it's you, that for sure. Very very nice, too.
ReplyDeleteAll of these quilts have been beautiful and incredibly creative. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy yours.
ReplyDeleteAll the quilts are beautiful. I believe you have to think FAR outside the box when working on a the RR quilts.
ReplyDeleteAh, I like yours best. Just love those blue birds - always remind me of my mom saying that bluebirds represent happiness.
ReplyDeleteAll so beautiful Rose Marie.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so great. Sometimes you need to work on stuff for yourself. Hope you have a good year doing that.
ReplyDeleteFun RR exchange. It's nice to get something back that does not require any additional work ... unlike our Exquisite Corpse RR.
ReplyDeleteThe pink corners made it perfect!
ReplyDeleteAll the Round Robins turned out so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so beautifull. All the quilts I have seen so far from the sfrr are beauties. Glad you like also what you have received.
ReplyDeleteI love asymetrical things too, they always add some punch. Great blog, I'll be back! And I know what you mean about enjoying swaps and RR's...you never get your own stuff done because you are busy doing things someone else dreamed up. All the best, Sharyn/KalamaQuilts
ReplyDeleteThese are all so pretty but seriously, the last one took my breath away. VERY nice job to all who worked on these.
ReplyDeleteWow they are all so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI went for a peek at the link. What a fun challenge and nice sizes too.
