While at the cottage last week, my sister and I have been sorting through the cupboards and we had quite a few sheets that were not necessary to keep any longer.
I have no idea what I'm going to do with them yet .... but you can be sure there is a quilt in their future! :o)
Have a great day!
What an interesting collection of vintage sheets....they are popular at present!
ReplyDeleteI'd be leery if you plan on hand quilting. Many years ago I put a piece of an old sheet in a cushion top that I was just quilting and it was horrid to try to get through. I don't know what the thread count was but I vowed not to use a sheet again unless I was machine quilting.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with whatever you do with them.
Nice idea to reuse the vintage sheets in quilts!
ReplyDeleteI have never used sheets in a quilt but most that I have are cotton/polyester mix. I turned some into tablecloths just because they don't need ironing and can take the hard use.
ReplyDeleteI have heard the same thing about hand quilting thru sheets the thread count can make it difficult. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
