Only 41 blocks ....

..... left to hand quilt and 2 sides to bind .... and this quilt will be done! To help speed up my finishing, binding has been made and sewn onto 2 sides. This way, once all the blocks are done, I just need to add binding to 2 more sides, add a label, wash and dry and then you can see the finished quilt. Warmer weather is starting to come our way and that will end any hand quilting for the summer ...... so I'm making a final push to get this klosjes (spool) quilt done. Oh my, I'm getting excited!!!

Have a great day!

  5. I just started hand quilting a pretty big quilt. I'm wondering how long I'll be able to do it before I sweat to death underneath LOL! This quilt is absolutely wonderful, can't wait to see the final reveal!

  7. That's looking fabulous. The appliqued flowers look very striking.

It really works. I have put the whole binding on before I have finished quilting. It really keeps things neat and tidy and if working on dark fabric keeps the batting fluff from getting all over the dark fabric.

  16. This is SO pretty, I can't wait to see the whole quilt when you finish. I did the binding along the way when I hand quilted baptist fans and yes, it was great to have it all done when I was done!

  18. Gets a little warm with a quilt and two kitties snuggled in your lap while quilting, huh? :-D I would be excited too if this were me coming to the end of this project. I'll check back soon to celebrate it's completion with you. No fear of it being too warm to quilt here in Minnesota...for now.
