Only 41 blocks ....
..... left to hand quilt and 2 sides to bind .... and this quilt will be done! To help speed up my finishing, binding has been made and sewn onto 2 sides. This way, once all the blocks are done, I just need to add binding to 2 more sides, add a label, wash and dry and then you can see the finished quilt.

That is such a great idea - I always dread doing that looooong binding at the end - thanks for the tip! Enjoy quilting those last 41 block :-)

ReplyDeleteI just started hand quilting a pretty big quilt. I'm wondering how long I'll be able to do it before I sweat to death underneath LOL! This quilt is absolutely wonderful, can't wait to see the final reveal!

That's looking fabulous. The appliqued flowers look very striking.
ReplyDeleteIt really works. I have put the whole binding on before I have finished quilting. It really keeps things neat and tidy and if working on dark fabric keeps the batting fluff from getting all over the dark fabric.
That is going to be such a treasure! Enjoy the journey.

Gets a little warm with a quilt and two kitties snuggled in your lap while quilting, huh? :-D I would be excited too if this were me coming to the end of this project. I'll check back soon to celebrate it's completion with you. No fear of it being too warm to quilt here in Minnesota...for now.
