Just Blessings

Back in the spring, I purchased this pattern that Robyn Falloon designed. Fell in love with it and just had to have it. Made 2 blocks right away to see if my fabric choices would work .... they did and then put it away so that I could finish up some other tops.

Brought this project out recently and made some more blocks. Not happy about that star. Searched around and found another star pattern.

Yumm .... love this look now!!! The large star was reduced by 30% and will be used in the corners of each block.

And with the addition of leaves ..... oh yes, this one is calling my name.

My quilt will be set on point instead of horizontal as per the original pattern and there will be no sashing.

I've been auditioning different fabrics for the setting triangles and still haven't found anything that I like yet. Perhaps, I'll just settle for plain old white and let the blocks float. Mmm .... that might be interesting.

In the morning, I'm off to take the train to North Bay. My sister and I will be making relish and there is a quilt show up there this weekend. I so enjoyed their last show that I attended and am looking forward to the beauties they will have on display this year.

Have a great day!

BTW ... for those in Canada and U.S.A. interested in this pattern, it can be purchased from this Canadian store.

  1. Wow, is that gorgeous! Your fabric choices make it look so crisp and whimsical -- like the wind might pick up the wheels and turn them. Very cool! I like your pattern better than the original!!

  17. Oh my goodness - its beautiful. So what did the original pattern look like?

Have to tell you - my husband cut me a board like the one you show in your previous post. I gave him your blog address to see what I wanted. He read where you said to make it snug and that is just what he did. It fits perfect and so snug I can get it out of the hoop, lol. He said - "Isn't that what you wanted? The blog said it was to fit snug." I said, well how will I get the needle through the wood to quilt the quilt - and he said (yes, he did say this) - "I thought you were going to use a curved needle." Back to the drawing board on this one.
