So home it came with me and I have to say that I do like it for straight line quilting. My plan is to do those first to secure a quilt and then use my oval quilting lap hoop for any of the other fussy hand quilting.
That is ….. if I can get Hank out of the frame to quilt. The girls have decided that this is a very cozy spot on a cold winter day.
To try out the frame, I’ve been working on my Dresden Plates and most of the straight stitching has now been done. Oh my …. that means half of this quilt is quilted!!! If you look closely, machine stipple quilting is in this quilt as well as hand quilting.
I'll be away for a week, so no posts until my return.
Have a great day!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteyour quilt look very nice. Sometimes we say thing we have to take back because we change the mind.
Have a nice weekend. :-)
Oh look how cute HANK is!!! I love this picture. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI totally love your Dresden Plate, too. I enjoyed reading this frame is working for you. But lets not get too out of control here with our quilting that we kick HANK out of her snuggly spot.
My mother and two sisters have a frame like that and they love it. For those of you in the states, you can get one at JoAnn's Fabric, they usually have wonderful coupons too so you can save big.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how nice it would be to rest like your girls do i.e. in the hoop.
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting your frame back! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Dresden Plate looks wonderful. Is the sashing pieced or appliqued?
You are so good to your kitties, always providing them with somewhere nice to sleep or play! The quilt is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the kitty taking over the quilt.
I'm going ot have to take a look at Fabricland for that frame. It looks like it's pretty light-weight.
I had one of those frames and sold it as I did not think about just using it for straightline quilting. You are so clever. I love the quilting on your quilt. I combine machine and hand quilting sometimes, and that is such cute quiltling with those circles. Great going!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny to see that baby cat in the warm spot. I love your quilt, it is just so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those frames which I like for basting a quilt too. I don't use mine much because I would rather applique than hand quilt.
ReplyDeleteI first started quilting on these frames and I think they are great!! I was lucky enough to find one at a yard sale for $25 and gave my old one to my mother. I also do the fancy stitches on my quilts to.. the frame can turn where your body can't..LOL less aerobics
ReplyDeleteBELLO. BUON LAVORO!!
ReplyDeleteLove the Dresden.
