Normally, I do not cut away the fabric behind my appliqué. This time is the exception.
The seams are pressed open and they will be easier to hand quilt.
Please visit my friend’s blog to see what she has been doing. Debra does such
lovely applique work and One Block Wonder quilts.
Have a great day!
I can't believe how neat your back side is (of the quilt I mean, Lol)! Mine is always such a mess of threads and seams ironed the wrong way.
ReplyDeleteGosh, they look as pretty on the back! This is going to be a sensational quilt.
ReplyDeleteI always cut away because I use the freezer paper underneath. Somehow my backs never look quite as nice as yours does!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am in awe. So far as I can see I could look at the back of your quilts just as long as I could looking at the front. I loved the flowers from the earlier posts too.
ReplyDeleteRose Marie if that is the back my goodness what does the front look like...you are so very neat...awesome work....
ReplyDeleteAwesome! You are truly a magnificent quilter. I can only hope my Dresden looks a tad bit as nice. Thanks for the link to the other sites! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the previous commenters the backside looks so neat and pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a pretty block and will make a pretty quilt. Your work is excellent. As the others have written, the back is as neat as the front.
ReplyDeleteI like to cut away the backing if I am hand quilting, but if it is going to be machine quilted I usually don't. Your blocks look great!
ReplyDeleteIt is so well done, you are a master.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderfully delicious!
ReplyDeleteThis is just wonderful! I wondered if you cut away the back, that's why I wanted to see it. I can't wait to see this all put together. You do such beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteSorry it has taken me so long to see this, I just got back home and to a computer to play on today.
Thank you for showing us both sides.
Rose Marie,
ReplyDeleteYour plates are absolutely beautiful! Your work is impressive!
The workmanship on Your Dresden plate is wonderful. I've never done that pattern before, but I love how they look. I hope you post more pictures as your quilt progresses!
